Countdown to Hyrule Warriors: Part 5

Hyrule Warriors is here and to celebrate the final character in my favorite character countdown is Link ah but which Link.

Number 1:  Hero of Time.

Now this link wasn't always my favorite Link, but after his third appearance. That’s right he has been in three games he stared in two and returned to teach the hero in the third. But we will address those games as they come but let us start with the first game OOT.

This is where we are introduced to this Link as a young boy who lives in the forest with a childlike race called Kokiri. One day he awoke to find that he now like the rest of the Korkri had a fairy partner named Navi. He was then tasked by the Great Deku Tree to save the kingdom of Hyrule.  After gathering the three stones he enters the temple of time and draws the Master Sword. He was then sealed inside the temple for 10 years.

After he awoke he was now an adult however Hyrule had fallen. This link would then journey to find the sages and gain the power to save Hyrule. With the sages gathered and the triforce of courage with him Link then set forth to defeat Ganon. This event would split the Zelda timeline but that’s not important for this blog. After defeating Ganon and restoring Hyrule the sages agree to send link back to past so that he may live a normal life.

In this the Adult timeline the people would think of the Hero of Time almost as a myth for he vanished without a trace.

When he returned to the past he prevented the future he had just seen and Ganon was punished by the original sages. Now Link was ready to have a normal childhood however with their quest complete Navi leaves. Link broken up by the loss of his friend began his hunting for her. His hunt took him through the Lost Woods where he was ambushed by Skull Kid (see number 3).

After this encounter Link was turned into a Deku. As A Deku Link found himself in Clock Town and worked to restored himself to human and creating the Deku Mask allowing him change back in forth. Here he learned that in three days the moon would strike Termina and destroy it.

As Link journeyed he to stop the moon and save he earned many more mask and a few that granted him a similar power to the Deku Mask.

He Earned the Goron Mask which allowed Link to turn into a Goron giving him great strength and the ability to roll like a Goron.

A Zora Mash that let me swim without a need for air and ranged attacks

The last mask is my favorite. The Fierce Deity Mask this mask made Link into a powerful warrior with both ranged and close up attacks. This mask made the last boss cake. However Link’s Journey Continued. This was the last time we would take control over the Hero of Time.  However even this would not be the last time he is seen.

Now Time went on and the call for a new hero a new Link arose and that hero would need guiding. That came in the form of A spirit wolf who would Become and old Warrior called   The Hero's Spirit.

This is the reason the hero of time is my Favorite Link. Here was this old warrior who lived a life of regret though did great things to help the world no one remembered his actions.  The future he saved no longer existed, and Termina was reset back to day one again. Another thing he lamented he lived in a time of peace and had no one to pass his skills to. Now I know what you're thinking wait isn’t each Link a reincarnation of the last. Yes they are I however think these training moments are like in Avatar the Last Airbender sort of talking to a former life in the spirit world.

Now The Hero’s Spirit is my Favorite Link ever because of his history however this link is a close 2^nd in design I love the scarf and would love to have one.
