Robo Luchador

So Grab your duck tape because we got some leaks to to cover boys and girls. So based on that and the title you know what we are talking about the Toys R Us Leak of the Power Rangers 2017 Movie Megazord.

So it been a while sense I've talk about toys or Power Rangers on this blog well today I'm going to do both today. Let's get started shall we by covering an announcement  back in February. During New York Toy Fair Bandai of America showed off many new figure for both the legacy line and the mass retail line, but it's what they didn't show that got everyone excited. Bandai announced that they where getting into the 6 inch  build-a-figure game like Marvel Legacy. Star Wars Black, DC Unlimited, and  Master of the Universe classics to name a few. Now among many of those mentioned above marvel the only one who still does a build-a-figure with DC only doing every now and then and most times it's not really a figure. Now Bandai gave some info but not a lot on these figures. The parts to focus on here are 2 teams a year and the sixth ranger having accessories not a build-a-figure part. Now after this announcement it would then be months until we would get any more n...

So I recently got caught up with one of my favorite reviewer and internet personalities Linkara 's (aka Lewis Lovhaug) show History of Power Rangers (HOPR). He started the show back April of 2010 and has been updating it as he get caught up on each show. He recently put out his take on Operation Overdrive and that got me thinking. Linkara has been a huge inspiration to me, this blog, and in some parts the podcast as well (there are a lot of people who inspired the podcast). Now the thought that I got was why haven't I done a Review/Retrospective of Power Rangers. The answer to that is well not all of my listeners/readers are Power Ranger fans to the extent I am. Now I recently changed my mind about this when a friend got me an early birthday present of Turbo a Power Ranger Movie   on DVD. Now you may be asking why did a friend have to get it for me. Well I do own a copy but it is VHS and sadly my VCR does not work any more, and with the confusion in the last few years of the...

So as a follow up to my last post and the amount of time I've been playing with my new Legacy DragonZord I thought I'd talk about what I'd like to see from the toy line from this movie. Now for this I'm going to break it down real simple each toy type will have a description of what it is and at the end I'll put my wish list. That being said lets get started. Figures This one is real simple your 5 rangers, villains, and maybe minor characters (example Alpha 5). Now I will be a bit more direct don't go smaller than 5 inches. The current line is a good example. Now  there is another big don't here. DON'T just re release old figures with a metallic paint jobs. Please create figures that match the movie design. Another type of figure that would work and could be at the same scale as the rangers would be a MegaZord figure much like the Retrofire line and be to scale with the villains and monsters. Another don't is DON'T Over do Gimmick fi...

So I've been meaning to make this post for a while since the announcement of the mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot movie. I kind of have some high expectations for this movie. I don't really want high expectations for this film but being a fan for 21 years kind of put them on a higher pedestal. So I did some soul-searching, and I came up with a list of what I'd like to see the movie do. So I broke it down into three categories of what needs done: characters, story, and Design.  Characters Rangers Okay my opinion hear me upset some fans. I'd honestly for this movie like to see five new characters. I think the movie would be better served with five new characters instead of recasting the original five because their actors iconically those characters.  However this is a great opportunity to maybe play with some of the way you betray an archetype in the movie.  Villains  Here's another area where my opinion may not be a popular one. Now here's the ...

So Lately I’ve been very much conducting my very own Power Rangers Train (LOL you’ll get this in 2016). Now I get it I’m kind of getting annoying but anyone who knows me when I get excited I go a little over board. Well the Power Ranger crazy had support in the form of a website dedicated to tokusatsu (a Japanese style of film and TV usually associated super heroes and kiaju). Well after finishing up recording and editing this week episode of our podcast (episode 40) I usually take time and listen to some of my favorites podcasts. Well while listing to the podcast for the above mentioned tokusatsu site they talked about Power Rangers this week. Now while listing I excited for a positive adult prospective to the new show PRSMF (that show title is a mouth full). I didn’t get that this week Instead I got a lot of Jaded sentai fans. Now this episode was longer than normal because they took a break but right about the 1 hour mark I stopped listening with 40 minutes remaining. When the ...

So lately I’ve been watching Power Rangers Super Mega Force (that is a mouth full to say). As much as the last season Mega Force was hard to watch I find myself enjoying this season.   Now as I watch the show and geek out over the use of the legendary Ranger powers I got to thinking about villains and I came up with my top 5 favorites. Now without any more delay here is the list.  5. Deker Now Deker is a sub villain from Samurai. He was once a human whose wife gave up both of their humanity to save his life. Deker sought power and to challenge those he viewed as strong as such he kept challenging the Red Ranger to test his metal. In doing so this both character where strongly developed and made for some of the best stories in the Samurai seasons.  Now another awesome fact about Deker was he could take human form. This human form is played by Ricardo Medina, Jr. who is also known (in Power Ranger Fandom) for playing Cole Evans the Red Wild Force R...
