I'll Form the Head

Hello again and sorry for the absence from my own blog I was too caught up in my streaming and video content that let the blog gather dust. If any of you follow me on social media weather it be Facebook (HATE THIS PLATFORM) or twitter I have been battling depression. That being said I tend to get flaky and tell my self that none of this maters it not easy but i'm going to try and make a go with no format mostly just musings and maybe story ideas with that lets get on to what I wanted to Talk about Voltron

So Back in February of this year a press release came out from a known but maybe under appreciated toy manufacture Playmates Toys. This press release announced the master toy licensee for Voltron. This press release while is about Voltron it is specifically about DreamWorks Animation series Voltron: Legendary Defender. Now this News went mostly ignored as Playmates didn't have any thing at large shows like SDCC or NY Toy Fair. That was until preorders went up at BigBadToyStore.com if you missed out you will have to wait until it goes up again.

With those preorders up Nerdist then covered the story giving details on the toy line. This story covers prices and different types that include a basic toy line, a deluxe toy line, and role play line. these are standard so lets talk about these lines.

Basic Toy Line
These figures are the standard line more than likely at a 5" scale and will cost $9.99 this line includes Voltron figures, Non transforming lions, and Ro-Beasts (YES SOMETHING TO FIGHT).
this line is interesting and I will definitely invest in a Voltron and some Ro-Beasts maybe the lions. while I understand starting strong with what people want giant robot lions and I hope that later on we will see pilots/paladins and other character as the show is more than just giant robot lions.

Deluxe Toy Line
This toy line is going to be harder to describe as there are 3 different types of figures will start with the Ultimate Voltron figures. The big guy stands 14" tall non transformable and will cost you $39.99
The next part of the deluxe figures is the Legendary Lions line. These figures are broken up by limb lions and the black lions. The limb lions will cost $17.99 and comes with projectile weapons and removable speeders with pilots. The Black lion will cost $29.99 and includes the removable speeders along with electronic features.

Now each of these lions boast 18+ point of articulation and can combine to form a 16" Voltron

Now why would I bother even talking about a story that almost 20 days old because I've been sitting and think about the potential of a classics line with the Legendary Lions line. Now the Press release says master toy license for Voltron: Legendary Defender and not the franchise on the whole there is still potential for classic Voltron and more just hear me out.

Classic Vlotron
This one is a given and given the amount of Expensive versions out there could sell well as long as it better than the old Matchbox/Trendmasters one so a scaled down version of the Mattel one could work with better plastics and no cockpits.

Vehicle Voltron
This one is on top of my wish list as out side of the Matchbox and a lot of bootlegs this has never had a modern release there was a masterpiece like figure but it was never approved. There are a lot of Vehicle fans that would love to see this guy make a return in more ways that just ester eggs in the new shows.

The next few Voltrons are very unlikely but it would make me laugh and smile to see a few of them in some shape or form.

Stealth Voltron
best image i could find
This Voltron was an original idea for the CG show Voltron: The Third Dimension and only happened when the passed into another dimension. out side of the Trendmasters toy this guy has never seen the light of day in modern toys while Toynami did a stealth version of thier EX figure it more a homage to this it's not this model.

Voltron Force Voltron

Ok this one may never happen for 2 reasons this show alone both saved and almost crippled the franchise. The toy line and a classic line where licensed by Mattel and dropped hard because of no 2nd season. The other reason is that this one would be logistically a nightmare there would be 5 lions to form the chest and 2 more blacks to form the arms. So in total 11 lions at the prices above would cost $258 before taxes. Needless to say I'd pass on this one

Combined Ro-Beast

Honestly unless we see something similar in the new show i doubt we will see any of these in this scale.

Comic Samurai Voltron

This guy was introduced in the comic but not really explained but based on the design it would be cool to see.

I see a lot of potential with this toy line and would love to see some classic Voltron figures mostly classic and Vehicle and I hope that there will be more
