Review: Halo Reach

Ok so I missed out on my Scott Pilgrim review I am sorry but I am keeping with my Promise with Reach. Now you know how this goes I will break it down to Story, Graphics, Multiplayer, and over all. So without and more delays here is the Halo Reach review Story The Halo Reach story put you into the role of Spartan III b 312 or as he will be called Noble six. This games story takes you from fighting off an advance team of Convent to the full on fall of the planet.   The story finds a way to introduce these charters and make you care about them and their conflicting personalities. Each level has you wanting you finish learning more about you mission. There is also a mystery element when Dr. Halsey makes her appearance and a conflict with the Spartans of Noble Team. The story as a hole has the same feeling of Halo one and just makes feel nostalgic. My one complaint is how this fits in with the book and such I think they will have time explaining how this fits. So my score is 5 out of 5 G

Just a Thought: Something Old Something New

I only last night realized it’s been over a week sense I last wrote a blog and to you my readers … sorry. I just finished my summer internship so I spent Friday and Saturday in a pizza induced comma Sunday I remember that StarCarft 2: Wings of Liberty came out soon at the time in stories now. So I found me a copy of StarCarft and Broodwars and played the campaign again and I was lost in this until last night. I then took a break caught up on my comic this week. So here what I think I love this game  but by episode 6 level 4 I’m little aggravated and trying not to just cheat a win (by the way if I reviewed 5s the both of them).  I’m looking forward to getting SC 2 expect the review next month and Halo: Reach in September (tentative schedule). On the SC2 I’ve seen some of the trailers and WOW the cut scenes look amazing. So I feel the need to say this Blizzard get off you brilliantly creative asses and make a CG film either for WOW of SC either or both is fine by me.  On the note of ga

In the News: 11 U.S. States vs Gaming and Kinect Has a Price

So I was looking around G4TV.com yesterday and I stumbled across this Article that states that Connecticut had joined with California and many others states in a supreme Court cases about a law that would Ban the sale of M rated games to minors. I laughed about this for a little bit mostly because every time I have bought a M rated game I've been asked my age and that the ESRB defines M rated games as not suitable for any one under the age of 16. This is just another attempted for law maker to look good but they are ignoring what they really should be doing. I openly hope that the supreme court rules against this law. I also Advise parents to look pay attention to what their kids play stop buying your 8 year old GTA. The ESRB is there for a reason so use it. Parents you don't let your kids watch R rated movies then why do you let them play M rated games. here is my reminder to everyone what the ratings on game mean and how they relate to move ratings eC - Early Childhood

In the News: Dragon Age II

Image
Thursday July 8, 2010 Bioware announced a sequel to its hit game Dragon Age: Origins. I waited almost the week before I talked about this for many reasons. One there was no info out their other than August issue of Gameinformer, and B I had not received my copy of said issue. Well today I check the Dragon Age wiki and saw the news board had been 5 new stories about Dragon Age II. So I now feel that I can talk about this with an informed opinion . I’ll start with the announcement and the new site. The site http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/ (go on click the link) offers an image of a very barbaric looking hero (more on him below) who I assumed at the time would be like the hero in the Dragon Age AMVs just an representation of what the hero could be.  With the new site we got a few images and wallpapers plus this little bit of info : Experience the epic sequel to the 2009 Game of the Year from the critically acclaimed makers of Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. You are one

Just a Thought: DLC

So if their is one thing I love it's bacon... I mean it's extending the life of my single player games with DLC. But here in lies my problem you need Microsoft points or cash depending on you system of witch I have none.  I now find my self in a large problem area there are so many DLCs for great games like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins. Their is also, though it has been out for a while now, the plethora of DLC for Fallout 3. what this does is keeps game alive. Now you may be asking what is D.L.C. it stands for DownLoadable Content and it's not just expansions to single player  its also new maps for multiplayer and new characters too.  DLC can bring more life into your game  I encourage people to buy more DLC and developers to make more. What brought about this little blog about DLC is that Activison Recently put back on the market The Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC pack they where barely up to being with. Now this packs will only be up until the end of the year so ge

In the News: No Milo For you (Update)

OK so yesterday I posted than their would not be a game with Milo in well Peter Molyneux says it might be other wise. In a story at IGN.com Molyneux said that Milo we saw is getting more and more add to the game.  Maybe we will see Milo after all and yeah I'll be buying and reviewing it as well.

Check This Out: Nintendo Nationwide Gaming Contest

So I figured this need too be shared so I must first say CALLING ALL WII OWNER PAY ATTENTION. Nintendo has announced the Wii Games Summer 2010. This is a Gaming contest that can win you prizes and a trip to LA for the Championships. I found this at G4tv.com and though I would share it with you for more info on the games check out their site here . I highly recommend all Wii owners to get on this and have some fun.

In the News: No Milo For you

So while I trolled along my favorite gaming new sites I found this bit of bad news of at G4tv.com . The greatly asked about and very missed from this year E3 was Milo the AI game for the Kinect (Natal at the time it was demoed) is just a Technical Demonstration. I'm not going to lie this was the only reason I would of bought Kinect other than the wireless voice remote. Now my list of games for the Kinect is down to Ubisoft's Fitness game (forgive me if I don't remember the title). This news I think will honestly hurt the sales of Kinect, but this is still the launch who knows what the future holds for it, but with Lionhead not currently producing anything for the Kinect, I.E. the talk about Fable 3 features that are either not their or not finished and now no Milo Boy Adventurer (which is to only title I can think of for this game). To wrap this up I think we've seen the beginning of the age of the casual gamer and no sir I don't like it. So I say "R.I.P Milo y

In the News: Rumors of the Kinect price

Sense it grad appearance at the Microsoft press conference Kinect has done one thing in the news and that's countless articles about how much it will cost.  Most of the retailers (Amazon.com, Gamestop, etc) have listed the device as $149.  Now Microsoft online store has also listed as 149. G4TV.com's The Feed has reported that their is an no official price announcement. But when will we see a price announcement. 1up.com reported that we may see an announcement as late as Gamescon. My thoughts on this are Their are a few things Microsoft need to do here with this. 1st don't pack this thing with out the old Xbox 360 adapter. Yes that right it has a special port that was built in to the Slims but not the older 360's.  2nd Bundles yes sell the unit with out games, and consoles but also make bundles with game an consoles. The more bundle options the better. 3rd please for your sake don't stick with the 149 dollar price. Now their is a rumor out their that this th

Review : Transformers: War for Cybertron

Ok so this will be my 1st of many reviews for this blog. And this time I’m looking at Transformers: War for Cybertron (WFC). But before I get in to the game let me tell you about my rating system. I will do a five point scale with five being the highest and one being lowest. I will rate a game on different thing like: Story, Game play, Graphics, etc. So let get started with my review of Transformers WFC. Story The Game in divided in to two parts Decepticons and Autobots. You can start the game with either one but it is recommended that you start with Decepticons. The Decepticons story is the search for dark energon. Take charge of characters like Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave as they tear through Autobot army to reach their goal. The Story is a little lake luster but it does show just how fully evil Megatron is. The Autobots story you take follows Optimus Prime as he rallies Autobots to save Cybertron form the Decepticons. This story is more fulfilling than the Decepticons st

E3 day 1

Ok today the floor doors opened but before that Nintendo and Sony got up on the stage and told us what to expect in the next year. Nintendo came on strong with a new Zelda game, Epic Mickey, and Goldeneye 007. Sony began showing off new games, the Move, and exclusive content for their multi-platforms games. Like yesterday I'll keep this to Pros and Cons Pros Nintendo - New games from Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, and Kid Icarus - Goldeneye 007 updated for the Wii - the specs of the 3DS Sony - a new Twisted Metal - The Move being used in more hardcore titles - Exclusive content for games like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - Valve puts Steam on the PS3 so you can download the games Cons Nintendo - Problems with the Zelda Demo on stage - to much info about the 3DS no showing us how it work in 3D Sony - The Press Conference was too Commercial (though I laughed at the rant the guy from the TV ads did) - Marcus the PSP kid - Big Glowing ball at the end of the move is still their Well Nintend

OK now that day one is done lets talk about what was done. Microsoft came in showing new exclusive titles and new franchises and the new Kinect. EA showing their strong sports line up and Bioware's new MMO. Ubisoft showed their off many of their new games and old IPs. Their were several pros and cons to these conferences and before I get to my thoughts on these conferences Pros Microsoft - Halo Reach and it new space battles - Gears of War 3 and 4 player Co-op - Fable 3 game play trailer and a look at the villain - Metal Gear Solid Rising game play - Partnership with ESPN EA - Star wars: Old Republic Trailer called hope - New shooter Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor, and Crysis 2 - Loyalty Programs Ubisoft - Rez 2 - Assassin's Creed brotherhood - Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Raving Rabbids - Rayman Origins Cons Microsolf - Kinect games rip off the Wii library - Lack of Milo like games that interact and respond to you EA - over hyping their EA Sports

Natel's gota beand new Name

So i guess the big thing i need to announce is the blog has a new name it is now the Nerd Word. Speaking of new name (that ladies and gentleman is a segue) Project Natel has been given a name and it will be known as (drum roll please) Kinect. I'm not a huge fan of this i would of love something simple like Microsoft Play but no one asked me. I got my news from this link http://www.pcworld.com/article/198739/kinect_what_we_know_so_far.html?tk=hp_blg As for the meaning to the word Kinect it sounds like a play of Kinetic (kinetic |kəˈnetik adjective of, relating to, or resulting from motion.) and connect. I guess this is suppose to be clever I don't know at lest it better than Sony's Move (I really liked Arc as a name for that but again I'm not the person they go to for this stuff ). I figured I'd Share my thoughts on this I'll do more as I learn more form E3

E3 a Comin

With E3 just around the corner I've been keeping my ear to the ground on what the latest video game trends are. The biggest thing coming out now is 3D. Don't get me wrong I like going to the Movies and see them in 3D when I can but what Sony may be proposing by adding 3D too their games may cost the average person another $12,000 TV just to play these games. But their are so many other directions you could take gaming in. Sony is one of the 1st to companies to work on a 3D TV which is ok as an added function. Then Sony announces that several new game like Kill Zone 3 or Kill Zone 3D. Also Nintendo announces the 3DS witch will have 3D but it wont be the core of game play on the hand held. Now their are rumors that Microsoft is going to announce 3D, and I honestly hope not. I'm a big fan on immerse game play when the Wiimote came out I said that will change gaming and I was right. Because Sony matched it with the Move and Microsoft took it to the next level with Natal (s
