So today November 21st doesn't really have any special meaning to most of us here in America, however to those of us who are fans of a certain personal digital monster franchises it's a day that stands with excitement and a modest bit of jealousy. Today in Japan the film series Digimon Adventure Tri starts with it's First movie titled "Saikai" (Reunion),  These New Movies reunite the character of the original Digimon Adventure (season 1 in the US) on a new adventure to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the show. Of the many Vaults we have visited  in California, the Mojave, and the Capital Waste  one houses the most brilliant and most demented mind of the old world. Vault 112 is not a place you want to visit. History In the Capital Waste lie one of the last vaults constructed 112. As our Journey across the wastelands of the Fallout Universe have though us never trust a vault. For most vaults house wicked experiments designed to test the very limits of humanity, However even Vault-Tech’s twisted experiments can go wrong some time. Vault 108 is one  such vault that did just that. History Vault 108’s experiment was a simple one study the conflict of a power vacuum. When the Vault’s door closed little did they know that there overseers own life was on borrow time. The 1 st overseer of 108 was chosen because he possessed a very rare and violent cancer. Minecraft Story Mode Episode 1 The Order of Stone

So as anyone who listens to the podcast knows I'm a Dragon Ball fan. Now in July of this year following the success Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F'  for the 1st time in 18 years the world received a new Dragon Ball anime. This Anime called Dragon Ball Super would tell the story of the two mentioned films and then move into  new story territory. However it would not just be a simple rehash of the films. The show would take both time and creative license with the story of the first new film   Battle of Gods . Super's first 14 episodes retell the story of the film. The plot of this story arc is identical to the film introduce Beerus the God of Destruction and his hunt for the mythical Super Saiyan God. Of all of Vault-Tech’s experiments on the vault dwellers this one was probably the hardest to make a hypothesis on Vault 106. History Vault 106 had 10 days of normal non experiment life, and on the 10 th day a powerful psychoactive drug was pumped out of the ventilation. The drug had varying effects on the residents of the vault ranging from a calm mellow high to violent rage. Many of the inhabitants went insane from the visions the drug showed them. These crazed survivors attack anyone and anything on sight in fits of madness.  This experiment is made more despicable by the fact that the Overseer of this vault was aware of the drug and told everyone in the vault that everything is fine. Next time we look and Vault 108 which had results that completely destroyed the original experiment.

So this month I started a Let's Play in Transformers Devastation and 6 videos later I finished it. Now as I play through the game my nostalgia but got press more often then I pressed dodge. So after finishing it I figured I'd sit down and review Transformers Devastation.

Vault-Tech’s Vaults have produced many different people to the wasteland. Some of these people are good, some bad, some xenophobic, some agoraphobic; however every now and then one dweller can change the wasteland. Vault 101 produced one such dweller, but unlike the Vault dweller out west this Lone Wander escaped a very different Vault in 101. History Vault 101 may seem like an ordinary control Vault however upon father observation of the vault interior and listening to dweller say thing like, “we are born in the vault we die in the vault.”  101 is an experiment in how a vault would work if it never opened and the overseer was an absolute power. Now overseer having absolute power would come later though it was his job to keep the vault closed. Now though the vault was never supposed to open however it did on 3 different occasions. The Arts are important and need to be preserved and Vault-Tech agrees. At least that what the brochure for Vault 92 would have you believe. History Vault 92 was populated with many of the world great musicians with the intent to preserve the arts. That was not the true case in fact. On one hand Professor Malleus was testing subliminal suggestion to bring out more creative musical talent. So I love Bethesda there games take up most of my year. So when I love something as much as I do Bethesda I tend to throw money at them in the forms of figures and collectables. So when this year when attendants of Bethesda's E3 press conference received this little number my mind went nuts. This made me so happy even if I would never have it I saw Mystery Minis of some awesome games. I let it go and went out to my count down till Fallout 4. Then a few weeks later Funko delivered some awesome new in the form of a huge amount of awesome Pop figures from Bethesda.  These were awesome and I instantly  pre ordered  so many of these so fast your head will spin. And while I have received some of them I’m still waiting for others (frustrating as hell). Then other News broke in the form of Mystery Minis from the Fallout Franchise. In the west most super mutants were born in the Mariposa Military Base but as the Brotherhood of Steel moved east to the capital waste they quickly learned that the super mutant problem was not isolated to the west. Deep within the Vault 87 one learns how the super mutant threat came to the capital wasteland. History To understand what happens in Vault 87 one needs to know the history of Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV).  The FEV was not always know by that name it was once called Pan-Immunity Virion Project (PVP) and was designed to combat the New Plague by making the recipients DNA more resilient and immune to the effects of the New Plague .  PVP was tested on animal subjects to surprising results. Most of the animal subjects had doubled in size and showed increased brain activity.  This result caught the attention of the Military and they took control of the research and renamed it FEV. Most of the stories of Vault Dwellers carry with them air of caution to those that hear them. There is one story that straight up terrifies those that hear it and that’s the story of the Puppet Man of Vault 77. History Vault 77 is unique in the experiment that Vault-Tech preformed on it. While most Vaults where populated in the hundreds or thousands 77 only had one man and a box of puppets. The Vault did its job and kept the man safe from the Fallout .  After a year alone the man discovered the puppet crate and began to give the different hand puppets names personalities and roles in his vault. The man was content with his puppets until he found the vault boy puppet that spoke to him. After that things changed the King puppet was murdered by the Vault Boy puppet. The Puppet Man and the Vault Boy puppet then left the Vault. The journey was eventful as they met other Vault dwellers it wasn’t until they met a few slavers that thing turned bad. Imagine one day you open your mail to find this: Congratulations! You have been selected for the wonderful and luxurious Vault 34! You might be excited as you read about all the luxuries the Vault offered including an Olympic size swimming pool. However all that came at a price. History Vault 34 was built like a luxury hotel and who could ask for more right. Well all that luxury came at a price. The Vault could barely house the people expected to live there. On top of that the Armory of the vault made those used by the military look a little sparse, and it was meant to be left unlocked. Now as the overpopulation became worse the overseer used an executive override to lock the armory. This was met with hostility leading to a faction of dwellers breaking into the armory and left the vault armed to the teeth. This group would set a community at Nellis Air Force Base and became known as the Boomers. Those that remained in the vault would suffer even more misfortune. Sh

West of Vegas Strip just before the Mt. Charleston Ski resort (now known as Jacobstown ) is a vault that reminds us why playing God is dangerous.   History Vault 22 was less of an experiment like many of the other vaults and more of a place to conduct experiments. The experiment here was to have the scientific minds in the Vault create plant life that would be more resilient in the Wasteland. The experiment was a success the modified plant life would thrive on artificial lite and did not absorb any radiation. However this took a rather deadly turn for the worse. The strengthened plant life produced viral spore that upon entering the human body it mutated the infected person into a Spore carrier . Many of the inhabitants of the Vault fell victim of the spore; however some managed to leave though still carrying the infection.  These dwellers made their way to the Zion Valley where there luck wasn’t so great there either.  Many became victims of the spores they carried othe

So I like to game a lot and when gaming went online it was like a gift from above.  However that was not the case online gaming quickly became a place of anger and hate.  This only got worse when consoles adopted online multiplayer.  Now everyone has headsets and vents their frustrations at ally or enemy.  I truly walked away from online games when after a game of halo 3 that my team won I received several messages from my team mate, who were complete strangers,  telling me I suck, I shouldn’t  play, and to go kill yourself.  Now I reported them for harassment and then found the reason why my kill to death (KtD) ratio was less than there’s. Needless to say unless my friends wanted to play from that day forward I stayed away from online multiplayer. So recently I reviewed the 1st volume of the new manga ULTRAMAN on this blog (you can read that post here ). Now as a tokusatsu fan I deeply enjoy the Ultraman franchise. I discovered it when i was young and just getting into the whole giant robo and kaiju thing. The show instantly pulled me in and kept me entertained. Now as an Adult Collector you would think I jump at the chance to collect high quality figures of the franchise. Now you would be right with one exception the Ultra-Act figures by Tamashii Nations are far too numerous and had fast collector price mark up than I have ever seen. So I stayed away sadly however when Tamashii Nation announced that Ultra-Act and S.H. figuarts  would be crossing over for a Ultraman figure based on the manga I was all on board.

This Vault  look like one of the control Vaults with the one exception being that all disputes where decided with games of chance like Poker, Black Jack, and other Vegas games. Most of the people admitted into the Vault were all compulsive gamblers as well. Because of this setting Vault 21 what could be seen as a perfect anarchy society. Most gamers know that in competitive multiplayer the oldest and most simple way of dividing up teams is Red and Blue.  History Well Vault-Tech decided to play this game with one of the Vaults. Vault 19 in the Red Rock Canyon outside Vegas did just that. The Vault separated its people into two factions a red faction and a blue faction.  Now wanting to make sure that the conflict would go on certain devices where designed to fail. Another conflict insurer was that the inhabitants of the vault all had pre-existing paranoia disorders. This is the all we know about vault 19 original inhabitants. Now by the year 2281 Samuel Cooke and his fellow escaped convicts have set up shop on Vault 19. Next week we let card talk, dice roll and roulette ball spin as we look in to Vault 21.

Welcome to a new blog called Cover to Cover where we will be talking about everything related to printed media like books and comics. This entry is a review of Viz Media’s new manga ULTRAMAN. ULTRAMAN is part of the Viz Signature publication and is written Eiichi Shimizu and drawn by Tomohiro Shimoguchi. The manga serves a sequel to the 1966 Ultraman show, ignoring the other shows, and follows  Shinjiro Hayata, son of Shin Hayata, as he take up the mantle of Ultraman.

Vault 15 the vault that would found a New Republic History Vault 15 may on the outside look like one of the control Vaults. That however would be wrong. Vault 15 was populated with people of diverse ideologies just to see how they managed vault life. One of the tammer experiments The Vault remained closed until spring 2141 in which the people left and formed 4 different groups because of the different ideologies. Of the four groups three became raider tribes. Those tribes are the Jackals , the Vipers , and the Khans . The last group formed the village of Shady Sands , a community that would one day become the New California Republic . The Vault would then remain lifeless, abandoned, and striped of anything useful. It would not see another visitor until the Vault Dweller from Vault 13 came looking for a water chip.  It would not see long term occupation again until the New Khans set up a base there. So on the podcast and with The Out of the Box blogs I've made it know that I am a very eclectic collector with my collection ranging from shonen anime to superheroes to tokusatsu monsters and robots.  Now one of my favorite franchise is Voltron, it's in space, has giant robots, and a bit of mysticism what's not to love. Well with me being a collector you'd think Voltron would be heavy in my collection you'd be wrong. You see for me Voltron Toys range from really rare to very expensive and lately with the surge in release of Voltron figures you would think there be something out there for everyone. You kinda are right in thinking that but none of it is affordable. In this Blog I will use the Voltron toys to show how I evaluate a price point on collector figures and compare to other lines with  less expensive collector lines.

Vault 13 is the primary Vault in both Fallout and Fallout 2. History A control Vault and one of the last Vaults built on the west coast. Its construction was completed in 2069. The major differences of the Vault 13 compared to other Vaults were the use of the Pip-Boy 2000 and the extra G.E.C.K.  The Vault’s mission was to remain closed for 200 years as a study of prolong isolation. This would be the case until the water purification chip broke in 2161. This would lead to the selection of the Vault Dweller who would then go out and gather a new water chip. The dweller would then return with water and disturbing reports of super mutants. The dweller was then charged with stopping the army. After all that was said and done the dweller was then exiled from the vault. The vault would remain quiet until 2241 until the all clear signal came. Vault 12 is a key location in the original Fallout game. History Vault 12 is not a control Vault. We have first experimental Vault of Project Safehouse. Ok the experiment conducted here was simple what would happen if the Vault door didn’t seal properly. The goal of this was to study the effects of the background radiation. The end result however was many dying from radiation sickness or turning into Ghouls. The Ghoul survivors would then go on to form the town of Necropolis. Even though the Vault was well falling apart it still had a working water purifier chip that would have is needed to save Vault 13.

Just southeast of New Vegas there is one of the more sinister of Vault –Tech’s experiments Vault 11. History This vault was a social experiment of the worst kind. Minutes after closing its door the overseer informed the people that every year they would have to choose one of the dwellers to be sacrificed or the vault would flood with toxic gas. Well they took this news like anyone would and chose to kill the messenger. That overseer was the first but not the last as that became the standard  method to choose the next sacrifice with the overseer elections. As time went on the Vault developed Blocs, similar to political parties, to control the nominations. The most powerful of these was the Justice Bloc. The Justice bloc however knowing of their power to control the swing of the vote as they held the majority blackmailed Katherine Stone into giving members of the Bloc sexual favors to keep her husband from being nominated. Vault 8 is a Vault featured in Fallout 2 and located in western Nevada. History Vault 8 is another control Vault meaning no crazy experiment was conducted on the residents. This Vault while having a nuclear reactor they are also given one of the few G.E.C.K.s, Garden of Eden Creation Kit. After receiving an all-clear signal the Vault is opened in 2091. The residents would then use the reactor and the G.E.C.K. to build Vault City. Though the residents of Vault 3 where kind the people of Vault City have become ethnocentric elitists regarding everyone else a simple waste lander next time we take a look Vault 11.

Vault 3 is located in the South Vegas ruins and was featured in Fallout: New Vegas. History Not much is known about Vault 3 other than the following facts. Vault 3 was one of Vault-Tech’s control control vault, meaning there were no experiments and this Vault was ran as advertised. designed to open after 20 years, but kept closed longer due to the wishes of the vault inhabitants. However, an unplanned water leak forced the occupants to open in hopes of trading with the outside. The people of Vault 3 where kind and very generous and welcomed anyone who needed shelter. This fact would sadly be the end of them. Sometime either in 2281 or before 2281 Motor-Runner and his tribe the Fiends are welcomed in. The Fiends then take to killing each and every resident of the Vault. The Vault is later made The Fiends base until the Courier comes along in October 2281. Next week we look into Vault 8

With November 10 th a while away roughly 18 weeks away so we are going to countdown to the game by looking at the vaults featured in Fallout,  2, 3, and New Vegas. I will not belooking into Vaults that where featured in the Tactics games, Brotherhood of Steel, or The Fallout Bible as these sources are either not or no longer cannon. I will be looking at these vaults in Numerical order starting with the lowest numbers and ending with the higher numbers. So we start this one with The Los Angeles Vault. History The LA Vault appeared in the original Fallout game and was never intended to be a working vault just a demo to acquire funds for Vault-Tec’s Project Safehouse. Its construction was completed either prior to 2054 or during 2054 before the constructions of the official 120 Vaults. So Fallout 4 is now a thing and I've never been more excited. To celebrate this I have been playing Fallout 3 (3) and New Vegas (NV). Both games came out last generation and were very successful. Now the games while being very similar are very different.  Now there are many out there that say one game is better than the other. Now I've played both and enjoyed them both immensely but for very different reasons.  So to start this countdown to Fallout 4 we will compare the two and decide which one is better by  looking at the game mechanics, story,  DLC, and game performance. Let's get started  Game Mechanics Ok so the mechanics of the two games are pretty much similar. Both games use the new S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system, are primarily 1st person, and use V.A.T.S.  Now thats mostly where the stop being similar.
