Lord Of Terror Has Been Reborn

Ok before I Start this one has some multimedia with it. It is advised that when you read this you listen to this song. Ok now on with the Blog

So This morning I awoke to find an item in the mail that have been putting of grabbing, and that love Item is the NECA Deluxe figure Diablo.
Not my picture. This picture was taken from the NECA website
Now the Shadow of Diablo repaint Just released and I Figured (see what I did there) I should grab the original at least. I did and the whole time while I was waiting for it to arrive and darken my home I got to thinking where there any older Diablo figures and the answer will surprise you.  Now Before I Go into that I want to give a quick review of the Lord of Terror.

Ok so this will be a picture less review mostly because I am writing this immediately after opening the package . If you would like to see some awesome pictures check out the Toyark.com review here. Ok now lets get this over with the figure is awesome the poseability is amazing NECA has learned a lot from the Pacific Rim Line. The Paint and detail are awesome and it looks just like the final fight from Diablo 3. All in all if you are a Diablo fan and you don't own this stop what you doing and go here here or here and get it.

Ok now when I get in the the older DIablo figures we need to talk about Blizzards history with action figures. Ok Now Blizzard earliest figures where made by a inhouse company and where generally small lines no more than three figures per series. The first toys ever made by Blizzard where for StarCraft and WarCraft and only included the basic combat  units for the different factions in each game. For WarCraft it was just a Human Footman and an Orc Grunt. In StarCraft we got Terran Marine, Zerg Hydralisk, and Protoss Zealot. Now StarCraft had a second wave that was mostly variants it added a Terran Firebat, Protoss hero Tassadar, and the the Hydralisk returned. Now a few year later when World of Warcraft (WOW) hit its popular point DC Direct (Now DC Collectables) Under there DC Unlimited label created a popular series of figures. The WOW line Started as random popular race and class combinations in teared gear. Now as it went on they added Character from the comic and major characters from the game.  After the announcement of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty DC Again added more to the list of Blizzard toys.

Now where does Diablo fit in with this history of Blizzard figures. well around the time of Diablo II and in the same style of figures as the above Warcraft and Starcraft figures. There were two series of figures one under the original Diablo logo and the other with the Diablo II logo. Both waves follow a simple pattern one Player Character, one Minion, and one Boss.
Not mine taken from Google
Series One Included The Corrupt Rogue, Baal’s Minion of Destruction, and The Nefarious Necromancer. The Corrupt Rogue is missed named it is in fact a figure of Blood Raven the corrupted version of the Diablo Rouge character, and while not a boss in game serves as the boss in this line.  Baal’s Minion of Destruction is the Minion and also missed name well not missed just over named it is the Minion of Destruction which is a pet of Baal's so the Name works.  The Necromancer is we just the Necromancer based on the character select model.

Series Two (and to clarify I have no idea if that is the case it's just easier to call them this way) included the Barbarian, The unraveler, and Diablo. These are more simple than the above mentioned figures. The Barbarian is like the Necromancer based on the character select mode. The other two are fairly obvious.

Now if you are interested in any of these good luck. i have found many on ebay but none of them affordable. Diablo  alone will run from 90 to 120 dollars.

Now after getting my Hands on the NECA Diablo III deluxe Diablo I got to thinking I would love to see NECA make more from the Diablo III game. They could even use the same above pattern minus the minion and replace with an NPC (non player character). an Example wave one would be Male Barbarian, King Leoric The Skeleton King, and The Fallen Angle Tyrael. and maybe more deluxe figures that include Malthael, Imperius, or Azmodan. Now that I am on the subject I also hope that NECA gets the license for the Warcraft Movie.

Now with every thing said and done get the NECA Diablo and I drop some history on you about Blizzard and Collectable related to there games.
